AAUW has negotiated a special rate at the Renaissance hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. for all convention attendees. The special rate is $229/night plus tax (14.5 percent). If traveling by air, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is the closest airport to the Renaissance hotel. You can get to the hotel by taxi, shuttle, or metro. From the airport, you can access the airport Metro station from the pedestrian bridges in Terminal B and Terminal C (if you arrive at Terminal A, take the shuttle bus to the other terminal building and access Metro from there). Once you enter the station, buy a Metro fare card from a kiosk. Calculate your fare by looking up your destination station: Gallery Place-Chinatown on the Yellow Line toward Greenbelt. One-way fares from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro station to the Gallery Place station are approximately $2.55–$6.15 depending on the time of day and type of Metro pass.
You can also fly into Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport or Dulles International Airport. You can get to the hotel by taxi or shuttle.
If you’re traveling by train, you can easily get to the hotel from Union Station via the Metro or by taxi. By Metro, take the Red Line train toward Shady Grove or Grosvenor and exit at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. The hotel will be about a 10-minute walk from the station.
The easiest way to get driving directions to the hotel is to create and print them from Google Maps. Search Google Maps for “Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown.”
