125 Years of AAUW Fellowships and Grants

June 11

When AAUW awarded our first fellowship in 1888, institutional support of women’s higher education — much less postgraduate education — was virtually unheard of. Now, 125 years and $100 million later, our fellowships and grants have helped more than 12,000 women reach their educational goals. We’ve had a hand in the progress of some of the world’s leading minds, from Nobel laureates and novelists to entrepreneurs and economists.

We’ll be taking time over the coming days to recognize the brilliant women and generous supporters who inspire our mission. Today’s banquet features some of our honored fellows and grantees. And throughout convention, you’ll have opportunities to learn more about starting your own educational programs and supporting existing AAUW fellowships and grants. You’ll also hear about the illustrious group of scholars and projects that our awards have supported.

Thank you for helping us honor more than a century of remarkable women, and join us as we build pathways for the next 125 years!
