2013 Plenary: Eleanor’s Legacy of Intergenerational Leadership

January 18

“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself. ”
—Eleanor Roosevelt

Robin Gerber, who has been writing about women and leadership for more than three decades, has authored two books on Roosevelt: Leadership the Eleanor Roosevelt Way: Timeless Strategies from the First Lady of Courage and Eleanor vs. Ike, a novel that imagines a hypothetical Roosevelt presidential campaign in 1952.

In addition to being a renowned leader, Roosevelt cultivated and encouraged leadership across multiple generations. In her keynote address, Gerber will illustrate the methods Roosevelt used to develop and lead diverse, intergenerational coalitions throughout her career. Gerber will also draw parallels between Roosevelt’s legacy and current efforts of AAUW’s national office, members, and branches. Her keynote is tentatively scheduled for 8:30 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.

More information on Robin Gerber, including where to purchase her books, can be found on her website.
